Impaired Driving/Over 80 

(Innisfil, ON) A 41-year-old Innisfil man is charged with impaired driving and Over 80 after police were called to an Innisfil grocery store for a report of an impaired driver.

On Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 7:25 a.m., police responded to Jans Boulevard in Alcona and observed the vehicle driving in an erratic manner. Police conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the driver. An odour of alcohol and other signs of impairment were detected. The driver was arrested and transported to North Division where breath tests resulted in readings of nearly three times the legal limit. A 41-year-old Innisfil man was charged with impaired driving and Over 80. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He was released with a future court date.

Impaired Driving/Over 80 

(Innisfil, ON) On Saturday, July 13, 2019 around 10:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to two calls regarding a possible impaired driver at a coffee shop drive-through in Stroud.

The suspect vehicle subsequently left and travelled southbound on Yonge Street before parking in a nearby plaza. When police arrived, the driver was arrested after the officer detected signs of impairment. He was transported to North Division where breath tests resulted in readings of twice the legal limit. A 57-year-old Colborne man was charged with impaired driving and Over 80. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He was released with a future court date.

Utter Threats/Weapons Dangerous

(Innisfil, ON) South Simcoe Police Service officers have charged a 30-year-old Innisfil man following a domestic incident in Innisfil.

On Saturday, July 13, 2019 around 9:00 p.m., police were called to an Innisfil home for a report of a man armed with knife and making threats. When police arrived, the suspect fled but was arrested nearby and charged with utter threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was transported to North Division where he was eventually released with a future court date and a number of conditions. The Canine Unit attended the scene to conduct an article search. Police Service Dog Nitro located a knife that was hidden in the backyard and it was seized for evidence. No one was injured in the incident.

Collision 

(Innisfil, ON) On Saturday, July 13, 2019, around 9:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a two vehicle collision at 4th Line and Yonge Street in Innisfil.

An eastbound vehicle on 4th Line entered the intersection and was struck by a northbound vehicle on Yonge Street. The driver and two passengers in the eastbound vehicle were taken to hospital as a precaution. The driver and passenger in the northbound vehicle were unhurt. No charges have been laid and the investigation is ongoing.
