Warn Range Suspension
(Bradford, ON) A 34-year-old East York man was issued a 3 Day Licence Suspension following a traffic stop in Bradford.
On Friday, January 25, 2019, around 3:00 p.m., officers conducting traffic enforcement observed a vehicle with an expired Val Tag. A traffic stop was initiated and an odour of alcohol was detected. The driver’s licence was suspended for three days after a caution was registered on a roadside screening device.

(Bradford/Innisfil, ON) South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to two separate incidents of domestic assault this weekend. In each case, a male suspect was arrested and charged with Assault. The female victims did not require hospital treatment.

ATV Pro-Active Patrol
(Innisfil, ON) Traffic Unit officers conducted pro-active patrols on our new All Terrain Vehicles (ATV) on the weekend. Officers advise that ice on Lake Simcoe is 12 inches thick and warn against driving on it in a motor vehicle because they are too heavy. We are urging caution due to varying ice depths and sections of instability. On Saturday, there were over 150 ice huts on the ice and no violations were reported. Officers also conducted a RIDE check at 9th Line and 25th Sideroad where citizens were coming on and off the ice. During this time officers stopped and spoke with 15 people and no violations were found. The area covered on Saturday was from the shoreline of Lake Simcoe from Alcona to Big Bay Point including ice huts up to .5 km off shore. Officers spoke with more than 100 citizens, conducted 5 vehicle stops. No charges were laid.
Drive While Under Suspension
(Innisfil, ON) On Sunday, January 27, 2019 just before 3:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were patrolling in the area of Innisfil Beach Road near Webster Boulevard in Alcona. Police observed a vehicle with an expired Val Tag. A traffic stop was conducted and investigation revealed the driver was under suspension. A 22-year-old Innisfil man was ticketed for Driving While Under Suspension and Driving a Motor Vehicle with no validated permit. The vehicle was impounded for seven days. The driver has a court date in March.
(Bradford, ON) A 25-year-old Bradford man had his vehicle impounded for 45 days following a traffic stop in Bradford.
On Friday, January 25, 2019, around 3:00 p.m., officers conducting traffic enforcement stopped a vehicle in the area of 10 Sideroad and Highway 88. The driver was subsequently charged with operation while prohibited and breach of probation.
From Friday, January 25, 2019 to Monday, January 28, 2019, South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to 231 calls for service.
