Impaired Driving/Over 80
(Innisfil, ON) On Sunday, February 9, 2020 around 11:30 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a suspected impaired driver call in Innisfil.
Police were told that a pickup truck with a snow plow on the front had gone into a ditch on Yonge Street just south of Innisfil Beach Road. When officers arrived they located the pickup truck in a driveway and spoke to the driver. An odour of alcohol was detected along with other signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported to North Division where breath tests resulted in readings well over the legal limit. 61-year-old Steven Thompson of Innisfil was charged with Operation While Impaired and Over 80. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

Warn Range Suspensions
(Bradford, ON) A 22-year-old Bradford man was issued a seven-day licence suspension after registering a fail on a roadside screening device test. A vehicle with five males and open alcohol in the centre console was checked during a RIDE program at Church Street and John Street in Bradford around 9:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2020. While speaking with the driver, police detected an odour of alcohol and conducted a roadside test. After registering a fail, the driver was arrested and transported to South Division for further testing. As a result, his licence was suspended for seven days due to the his previous driving history. He was also ticketed for open alcohol.
(Innisfil, ON) A 35-year-old Innisfil woman was issued a three-day licence suspension and a speeding ticket after registering a caution on a roadside screening device test. On Saturday, February 8, 2020 around 2:00 a.m., a South Simcoe Police officer conducted a traffic stop after a vehicle was clocked travelling in excess of 30 kilometres of the posted speed limit. Police detected an odour of alcohol and suspended the driver’s licence for three days following the roadside test.
