Impaired/Over 80 with Collision 

(Innisfil, ON) A 62-year-old Innisfil woman was charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 following a single vehicle collision in Innisfil.

On Sunday, December 15, 2019, around 6:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to the area of 25th Sideroad and Roberts Road for a vehicle in a ditch. The driver was arrested nearby and charged after breath tests resulted in readings of well over twice the legal limit. A 62-year-old Innisfil woman was charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80. Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for seven days. There were no injuries. She was released with a court date in January 2020.

(Innisfil, On) A 37-year-old Orangeville woman was charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 following a RIDE check in Innisfil.

On Friday, December 13, 2019, at 9:30 p.m., police stopped a vehicle at a RIDE program at 25th Sideroad and Big Bay Point Road and detected an odour of alcohol. After a Fail was registered on a roadside screening device the driver was transported to North Division where breath tests results were well over the legal limit. A 37-year-old Orangeville woman was charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80. She received the mandatory 90-day licence suspension and seven day impoundment of her vehicle. She was released with a future court date.

Impaired/Over 80/Drive While Prohibited 

(Innisfil, ON) On Friday, December 13, 2019, South Simcoe Police Service officers were conducting a RIDE initiative at the 13th Line and 25th Sideroad in Innisfil.

At approximately 10:00 p.m., police stopped a vehicle and detected an odour of alcohol when speaking to the driver. After a Fail was registered on a roadside screening device test, the driver was transported to North Division where breath tests resulted in readings of almost twice the legal limit of alcohol. A 36-year-old Innisfil man was charged with Impaired Driving, Over 80, and Operation While Prohibited. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He was released with a future court date.

During Festive RIDE checks over the weekend, officers also issued several cannabis-related suspensions and tickets Drug-impaired driving is dangerous and against the law. Don’t drive impaired. You have options to get home safely. We urge you to designate a sober driver, call a cab or ride-share, take public transit or simply stay over. Officers are on the look out 24-7 for impaired drivers, not just during RIDE checks.
