Drugs Seized After Vehicle Stopped for Stunt Driving

(Innisfil, ON) South Simcoe Police Service officers seized cannabis and cannabis edibles after stopping a vehicle for stunt driving and speeding in Innisfil.
On Friday, August 6, 2021, at approximately 7:10 p.m., police observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on 25th Sideroad. A speed measurement was obtained of 95 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone. A traffic stop was conducted. The driver was arrested and police seized just over 6 pounds of cannabis and cannabis edibles.

As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old Innisfil man was charged with Speeding, Stunt Driving (Driving in Excess of 40 km/h Over Posted Limit), Possession for the Purpose of Distributing and Possession of Over 30 grams of Dried Cannabis (or equivalent) in a Public Place. His licence was suspended for 14 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He was released at the scene with a future court date.

Impaired Driving

(Bradford, ON) On Sunday, August 8, 2021, at approximately 10:10 p.m., the South Simcoe Police Service was called regarding a hit-and-run collision that had just occurred in the area of Holland Street West and Simcoe Road in Bradford. The suspect vehicle was subsequently located and the driver was arrested. The vehicle struck by the suspect vehicle sustained damage but no one was hurt.

As a result of the investigation, 28-year-old Brent Leblanc of Bradford was charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired – Excess Blood Alcohol, and Fail to Stop After Accident. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He was released with a future court date.

(Innisfil, ON) On Sunday, August 8, 2021, at approximately 10:54 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver on Webster Boulevard in Innisfil. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was arrested.

As a result of the investigation, 31-year-old Behnam Moradi of Innisfil was charged with Operation While Impaired – Excess Blood Alcohol. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He was released with a future court date.

From Friday, August 6, 2021, to Monday, August 9, 2021, the South Simcoe Police Service responded to 209 calls for service.
