Counterfeit Cash Arrest

(Innisfil, ON) A 22-year-old Innisfil man is facing seven charges following an investigation into counterfeit U.S. money.

On Friday, August 16, 2019 around 3:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to a bank on Innisfil Beach Road in Alcona after attempts were made to pass counterfeit American currency. Through investigation, police learned that a man had been using or attempting to use counterfeit American bills at multiple locations throughout Innisfil. A suspect was identified and police made an arrest on Friday evening. A 22-year-old Innisfil man was charged with five counts of Uttering Counterfeit Money, one count of Possessing Counterfeit Money and one count of Possession of Suspected Cocaine. He was transported to North Division and later released with a future court date.

Assault/Robbery/Forcible Confinement 

(Bradford, ON) South Simcoe Police Service officers have charged a 42-year-old Bradford man after an escort was assaulted, robbed and confined.

On Saturday, August 16, 2019, around 10:00 p.m., police were dispatched to a home in Bradford where the victim reported she had been assaulted, robbed and prevented from leaving the residence. She was able to escape the home and called police. A 42-year-old Bradford man was arrested at the scene and charged with Assault, Robbery and Forcible Confinement. He was transported to South Division where he was later released with a future court date. The victim did not suffer any physical injuries.
