Impaired Driving Charges

(Bradford/Innisfil, ON) The South Simcoe Police Service laid the following impaired driving charges from Thursday, March 3, 2022 to Monday, March 7, 2022.

On Sunday, March 6, 2022, at approximately 11:30 p.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer observed a vehicle driving erratically in the area of 20th Sideroad and Innisfil Beach Road in Innisfil. A traffic stop was conducted. As a result of the investigation, 49-year-old Marco Lucente of Innisfil was charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired – Excess Blood Alcohol and Dangerous Operation. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

On Saturday, March 5, 2022, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer observed a vehicle run a red light at the intersection of Holland Street West and Melbourne Drive in Bradford. A traffic stop was conducted. As a result of the investigation, 55-year-old Robert Cuffe of Brechin was charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired – Excess Blood Alcohol and Red Light Fail to Stop. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

On Thursday, March 3, 2022, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on county Road 27 in Innisfil. A traffic stop was conducted. As a result of the investigation, 23-year-old Chelsea Graham of Melancthon was charged with Operation While Impaired – Excess Blood Alcohol, Possession Suspected Cocaine and Speeding. Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for seven days. Her passenger, 36-year-old Shane Hollingshead of Melancthon, was charged with Possession Suspected Cocaine, Obstruct Peace Officer and Failure to Comply with Undertaking. Graham’s licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for seven days.

In addition to year-round RIDE programs, officers patrol 24/7 in our ongoing efforts to keep our roads safe. Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 911 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.
