Vehicle Struck by GO Train 

(Innisfil, ON) South Simcoe Police Service officers are appealing for witnesses after an abandoned vehicle was struck by a GO train in Innisfil.  

On Friday, October 23, 2020, around 2:00 a.m., a citizen called police to report that an unoccupied SUV was parked close to the tracks in the 20th Sideroad and Innisfil Beach Road area. Moments later, a GO train struck the 2013, white, KIA, Soul. The train sustained minor damage. No one was hurt. Police are appealing to anyone with information regarding this incident to call 705-436-2141, 905-775-3311, or contact Crime Stoppers. 

Thank you to the citizen who alerted us to this situation. Any time is train time and they can’t stop quickly. Fortunately there were no injuries as a result of this incident. Be rail smart. Stay safe when you are near or crossing tracks.   

Police Seek Purse Thief  

(Bradford, ON) South Simcoe Police Service officers are appealing for the public’s help to solve the theft of a woman’s purse.
On Wednesday, October 22, 2020, around 3:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a grocery store near Barrie Street and 8th Line in Bradford regarding the theft of a purse. Once on scene, officers learned that a female suspect grabbed a woman’s purse out of her shopping cart when the victim was looking away. The suspect quickly left the store and drove off.
