Bradford Business Charged
(Bradford, ON) A Bradford restaurant has been charged after South Simcoe Police Service responded to a compliance check call.
On Thursday, May 13, 2021, at approximately 8:40 p.m., police were dispatched to Minho Restaurant & Catering on Holland Street West after receiving a report about a group of people eating and being served inside the restaurant. As a result of the investigation, the business was served with a Provincial Offences Notice for violating emergency orders.

South Simcoe Police Service will continue to educate, and where necessary, enforce the stay-at-home orders to help keep our communities safe and to support our local health and by-law units. Everyone needs to do their part to prevent the spread of this deadly virus.

Impaired/Stunt Driving Charges
(Bradford, ON) On Thursday, May 13, 2021, at 11:25 a.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer was conducting speed enforcement on Holland Street West in Bradford.
The officer observed a vehicle travelling westbound at a high rate of speed passing several vehicles. A speed measurement was obtained of 104 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone. Police conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the driver who was the lone occupant. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to South Division.
As a result of the investigation, 34-year-old Bradley Cathcart of Jackson’s Point was charged with the following offences:

Operation While Impaired – Excess Blood Alcohol
Stunt driving
Drive while under suspension
Drive motor vehicle without ignition interlock device
Novice driver – BAC above zero
Fail to have insurance card

His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. The accused was released with a future court date.
