Multiple Charges Follow Road Rage Incident 

(Bradford, ON) A road rage incident in a Bradford parking lot led to multiple charges and the recovery of stolen property.
On Thursday, March 19, 2020, around 12:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to the Home Depot parking lot on Holland Street West. Once on scene, police learned that a near collision in the parking lot sparked a road rage incident between the drivers of a hatchback and a pickup truck towing a trailer full of construction materials. The verbal dispute escalated with the hatchback driver damaging the pickup truck and the pickup truck driver brandishing a machete.

Further investigation revealed that the trailer and licence plate were stolen along with some of the construction materials.

49-year-old Van Phuc Phan of Beeton was charged with:

Assault

Assault with a weapon

Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

Possession of property obtained by crime – 4 counts

Theft under $5,000 – 2 counts

48-year-old Thanh Huong Phan of Woodbridge, a passenger, was charged with:

Possession of property obtained by crime – 4 counts

Theft under $5,000

19-year-old Cooper Brown of Bradford was charged with Mischief Under $5,000.

Theft Under $5,000 

(Bradford, ON) An employee of Shoppers Drug Mart in Bradford was charged with Theft following an investigation by South Simcoe Police Service officers into stolen narcotics. On Thursday, March 19, 2020, around 10:00 a.m., police responded to the Shoppers Drug Mart on Holland Street West for a report of a theft. Investigation revealed that more than 1,000 tablets of a narcotic were stolen on multiple occasions along with a small quantity of allergy medication.

Charged with two counts of Theft Under $5,000 is a 27-year-old Bradford man. The stolen narcotics were recovered.

On Thursday, March 19, 2020, South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to 49 calls for service.
