Sexual Assault Arrest
(Innisfil, ON) South Simcoe Police Service officers have charged a 27-year-old Innisfil man with Sexual Assault.
Police began an investigation on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 after a woman reported that she was sexually assaulted by a man she met over social media.
Police identified a suspect and as a result of investigation, a 27-year-old Innisfil man was charged with Sexual Assault. He was released with a future court date. The victim did not suffer physical injuries.
Sexual assault is any unwanted sexual contact. If you are a victim, call police and report the incident. Impaired Driving/Over 80
(Bradford, ON) A 34-year-old Innisfil woman was charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 following after a single vehicle collision.
On Thursday, January 23, 2020, around 5:20 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were dispatched to the 5th Sideroad and 4th Line area of Innisfil regarding a vehicle in the ditch. Police detected an odour of alcohol when speaking to the driver, who was unhurt. She was arrested and transported to South Division where breath tests resulted in readings over three times the legal limit of alcohol. A 34-year-old Innisfil woman was charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80.
Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for seven days.
There are many options to avoid driving impaired but there is absolutely no excuse. We will continue to keep watch for people who choose to drive drunk or high. Please continue to be vigilant with us in our efforts for road safety.
Man Apprehended Under Mental Health Act
(Innisfil, ON) A 37-year-old Innisfil man was apprehended under the Mental Health Act after South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a home in Innisfil.
On Thursday, January 23, 2020, around 9:45 a.m., police began liasing with Ontario Provincial Police in northern Ontario regarding a domestic incident. The investigation led South Simcoe Police Service to a home in the 10th Line and Glen Cedar Crescent area of Innisfil. A 37-year-old man was apprehended without incident under the Mental Health Act and will face charges from the Ontario Provincial Police. There were no injuries.
Break and Enter
(Bradford, ON) South Simcoe Police Service officers are appealing for the public’s help following a break and enter at a Bradford thrift store.
On Wednesday, January 22, 2020, around 10:00 a.m., were dispatched to a break and enter at the Re-Source Thrift Shop located on Holland Street East. Police determined the break-in occurred sometime between 5:30 p.m.,Tuesday, January 21, 2020 and 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 22, 2020. A quantity of cash was stolen. Anyone with information regarding this break and enter is asked to call South Simcoe Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
On Thursday, January 23, 2020, South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to 77 calls for service.
