Assault With A Weapon/Utter Threats 

(Bradford, ON) On Tuesday, February 5, 2019 around 3:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to the area of Holland Street West and Simcoe Road in Bradford after a dispute erupted between a pedestrian and a driver over illegally parked vehicles. Investigation subsequently led to the arrest of a 33-year-old Bradford man. He was charged with Uttering Threats, Assault With A Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose. The victim did not require medical treatment.

Robbery 

(Innisfil, ON) On Tuesday, February 5, 2019, around 8:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to the intersection of Innisfil Beach Road and 20th Sideroad for a report of a robbery. Once on scene, officers learned that a taxi driver had been robbed by a fare who then fled the scene. Subsequent investigation identified a suspect and an arrest was made on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. A 25-year-old Innisfil man is charged with Robbery, Utter Threats and Breach of Probation. He was released with a future court date.

Assault/Mischief 

(Bradford, ON) On Wednesday, February 6, 2019 around 1:00 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were dispatched to a home in the Holland Street West and Professor Day Drive area of Bradford. Once on scene, officers spoke to a 41-year-old man who said he had been assaulted by his spouse and several items in his home had been broken. A suspect was subsequently located nearby and transported to South Division. A 27-year-old Bradford woman was charged with Assault and Mischief. She was released with a future court date and conditions. A safety plan was discussed with the victim who did not require medical treatment.

Speeding/Drive While Under Suspension 

(Bradford, ON) On Thursday, February 7, 2019, around 2:30 p.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on the 8th Line in the area of Woods Crescent in Bradford. A speed measurement was obtained of 76 km/h in the posted 50 km/h zone. A traffic stop was initiated where the officer learned the driver had been under suspension dating back almost 20 years. The officer also noted damage to the windshield and an unreadable licence plate. A 47-year-old Barrie man was charged with Speeding, Driving While Under Suspension, Entire Plate Not Plainly Visible and No Clear View to Front. The vehicle was towed from the scene. The driver was given a court date in March.

Traffic is a top concern among our residents and officers are on patrol every day and night to ensure road safety. Speed kills. We all have a role to play by slowing down.
