Youth Charged Following Armed Robbery  

(Innisfil, ON) A youth is facing charges following an armed robbery at a convenience store in Innisfil.

On Thursday, December 3, 2020, around 11:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to a convenience store located in a plaza on Innisfil Beach Road in Alcona. Upon arrival, police learned that a suspect wearing a ski mask demanded money and threatened the clerk while carrying what appeared to be a handgun.

The clerk realized the gun was fake and two other people in the store tackled the suspect to the ground and held him for police. No one was injured.

He was held for a bail hearing. The name of the accused cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
