BRADFORD WEST GWILLIMBURY/INNISFIL POLICE SERVICES BOARD ANNOUNCES MUNICIPAL APPOINTEE MEMBER

(BRADFORD/INNISFIL, ON) – The Bradford West Gwillimbury/Innisfil Police Services Board (Police Services Board) is pleased to announce Janece Kristman as the Municipal Appointee Member for the remaining two years of the current municipal term of council.

In accordance with the Community Safety and Policing Act (CSPA), the Bradford West Gwillimbury/Innisfil Police Services Board held its annual elections on January 22, 2025, and acclaimed Chris Gariepy as Chair for the 2025 term. During that time, Mr. Todd Canning continued as Interim Member and Past Vice Chair (Municipal Appointee). At the March 26, 2025, Police Services Board meeting, Janece Kristman was sworn in as the new Municipal Appointee Member for 2025-2026.

On behalf of the Police Services Board, I wish to thank Interim Member and Past Vice Chair Todd Canning for his contributions and dedication to the Board, our communities and to the South Simcoe Police Service. Your contributions have helped shaped the important work of the Board. We are grateful for your time and efforts. At the same time, I am pleased to welcome Janece Kristman as the new Municipal Appointee Member. Janece has been a resident of Bradford for 41 years and resides with her husband, John. They raised their two sons, who continue to live in the community with their families. Janece has worked in the public sector for 28 years, specifically in human resources management.

The Police Services Board is the civilian body governing the South Simcoe Police Service. The Board is regulated by the CSPA, which oversees law enforcement and public safety in Ontario with a commitment to transparent and effective governance. The CSPA mandates annual elections for these leadership roles to ensure accountability and the continuous renewal of perspectives within police governance.
