Arrest in Thefts from Vehicles Investigation
(Bradford, ON) South Simcoe Police Service officers have charged a Newmarket woman in a thefts from vehicles investigation in Bradford.
On Monday, May 17, 2021, at approximately 11:00 p.m., police responded to the Langford Boulevard and Line 6 area for a suspicious person call. Once on scene, police learned that a man and woman were checking vehicles on the street and that the woman had entered a vehicle.
On Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at approximately 6:40 a.m., police responded to the area of Holland Street West and Langford Boulevard for a report of a woman checking vehicles. The woman matched the description of the female suspect from the previous evening and she was arrested. Police seized a knife, stolen property and a quantity of suspected ecstasy and fentanyl.
As a result of the investigation, 32-year-old Kathleen Fonseca of Newmarket was charged with the following offences:
Trespass/prowl near dwelling house (3 counts)
Theft Under $5,000 from a motor vehicle
Possession of property obtained by crime
Obstruct a peace officer
Carrying concealed Weapon
Possession of drugs (2 counts)
The accused was released with a future court date.
