RIDE Check Leads to Impaired Driving Charge

(Bradford, ON)  A RIDE program in Bradford has led to a driver being charged with impaired operation.
On Saturday, April 23, 2022, at approximately 12:15 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers stopped a vehicle at a RIDE program at the intersection of Marshview Boulevard and Morris Road.

As a result of the investigation, 59-year-old Savoeun Kan of Bradford was charged with Operation While Impaired and Operation While Impaired – Excess Blood Alcohol. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days the vehicle impounded for seven days. He was released with a future court date.

The South Simcoe Police Service conducts RIDE programs year-round in our ongoing efforts to combat impaired driving. Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 911 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.


From Friday, April 22, 2022, to Monday, April 25, 2022, the South Simcoe Police Service responded for 250 calls for service.
