(Bradford, ON) On Sunday, February 11, 2018, just after 4:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police responded to a call to be on the look out for a silver BMW that fled the scene of a collision in the area of Summerlyn Trail. The suspect motor vehicle was reported to have struck a parked vehicle before mounting the curb and hitting a hydro box. The vehicle sustained extensive front end damage. The driver called the station shortly after and openly admitted to being the driver who left the scene, being a disqualified driver and had been drinking. He provided the address he was at and waited for police to arrive. The male was arrested at the residence and the damaged vehicle was impounded.
The 23 year old male from Bradford was charged with Impaired Driving, Over 80 mgs, Fail To Remain and Drive Disqualified.
On Tuesday, February 13, 2018 just after 6:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police received a call regarding a fire at the Friday Harbour Resort. Fire was already on scene when police arrived. The fire was contained to a number of under construction units. Police are still on scene while fire attempts to determine a cause.
Nothing suspicious at this time.
