(Bradford, ON) On Saturday, February 10, 2018, just after 2:00 p.m., a South Simcoe officer, out on general patrol in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury, stopped a truck for erratic driving on Luxury Avenue. While speaking to the driver, the officer detected alcohol on his breath. The man openly admitted to having consumed alcohol on today's date. The male driver provided samples of his breath and had his licence suspended for 3 days and his truck was towed.
3 Day Suspension, Suspended Driver
(Innisfil, ON) A South Simcoe Police officer from the Traffic Unit out on general patrol on Saturday, February 10, 2018 just after 4:00 p.m., pulled over on the 25th Sideroad in the Town of Innisfil to allow a large amount of traffic to pass. While pulled over, the officer's attention was drawn to a car approaching from a side street. The male driver was waving his arms, upset that traffic had be slowed by the officer. The officer had a conversation with the driver and notices the odour of alcohol coming from the male.
A roadside screening device test was conducted. As a result, the driver was issued a 3 day Warn Range Suspension.
Further investigation showed the driver as being a suspended driver for unpaid fines.
A 52 year old Innisfil man has been charged with Drive Under Suspension.
Impaired Driver, Drive Over 80 mgs
(Bradford, ON) On Sunday, February 11, 2018, around 2:30 p.m., a South Simcoe Police officer observed a car with no rear lights driving northbound on the 10th Sideroad, located in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury. Police conducted a traffic stop and while speaking to the driver, the officer noted the smell of alcohol coming from the driver's breath. A roadside screening device test was conducted, registering in a FAIL, and was taken to the station for further testing.
The 21 year old male from Mississauga was charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Over 80 mgs. His car was towed and impounded for 7 days and his driver's licence is suspended for 90 days.
He will appear in court later this month to answer to these charges.
Novice Driver B.A.C. Above Zero
(Bradford, ON) On Saturday, February 10, 2018, a South Simcoe Police officer on general patrol in the downtown core of the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury just after 2:00 a.m. stopped a vehicle.
While speaking to the driver, the officer noted a smell of alcohol coming from the driver's mouth. A roadside screening device was conducted and confirmed the presence of alcohol. The driver, who holds a G2 licence, is not permitted to have any alcohol while driving. The driver, a 27 year old male from Newmarket, was charged with Novice Driver Above Zero.
Theft of ATV
(Innisfil, ON) On Friday, February 09, 2018, South Simcoe Police responded to a call about a theft of an ATV. The owner reports the last time seeing his ATV was on Wednesday, February 07, 2018.
The description of the ATV is a 2015 Polaris Sportsman 570, red in colour, with a large rear passenger seat with black storage boxes on both sides, a Polaris snow plow on the front, Plate 6BY61.
