(Innisfil, ON) On Thursday, February 08, 2018, just before 5:00 p.m., South Simcoe police responded to a business in the Town of Innisfil for a report of a workplace accident. Officers assisted the Simcoe County Paramedics with victims care, then identified witnesses to the accident. The victims were attempting to move a disabled truck into the work bay using a forklift with chains attached to the truck. One of the chain links broke causing the rest of the chain to whip back toward the workers. Two workers were injured as a result.
Both workers were taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.
The case was taken over by an investigator from the Ontario Ministry of Labour.
