(Bradford, ON) On Monday, July 10, 2017, at 5:25 a.m., officers from the South Simcoe Police Service were called to the intersection of Disette Street and Jay Street. A man had been driving on Disette Street when he saw a small child alone, crossing the road. He stopped and spoke to the boy, then called police.
As officers arrived, the child's grandfather drove up and identified the child.
The boy was returned, unharmed, to his parents at home. Officers learned that the child had left the house while everyone was getting ready for the day. Family members began searching immediately.
Thankfully, this incident ended well. The public are reminded that toddlers and young children should be supervised at all times. Home security includes preventing small children from unauthorized exits. Children can move quickly and travel far distances. Call police immediately in this situation.
The South Simcoe Police Service salutes the citizen who recognized that this child needed assistance and we thank him for his help.
(Bradford, ON) On Monday, July 10, 2017, a man reported his car stolen from the plaza parking lot at 305 Barrie Street in Bradford. He parked his white 2013 Toyota Prius, licence BSTH632, in the afternoon of Thursday, July 6. Sometime over the weekend. the vehicle was taken.
