Drug Trafficking Arrests
(Innisfil, ON) Over the last few months, officers from the South Simcoe Police Service have noticed an increase in the recreational use of the prescription drug Xanax and related criminal activity. Officers from the Community Mobilization and Engagement Unit began an investigation, during which a lockbox was seized from an Alcona home. A search warrant was sought and granted for the contents of the box which was found to contain stolen property, a quantity of marijuana and a quantity of Xanax.
Two suspects were identified. On June 29, 2017, a 16 year old Innisfil boy was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing on charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Marijuana), Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Xanax), Fail To Comply Undertaking and Possession of Stolen Property.
On July 5, 2017, a 17 year old Innisfil girl was arrested and charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Marijuana), Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Xanax), and Possession of Stolen Property. She was released and will appear in court in August.
Drug Trafficking Arrest
(Bradford, ON) On Wednesday, July 5, 2017, around 2:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to the area of Barrie Street and John Street for a dispute where a knife was allegedly brandished. During the search for the suspects, the officers came across a number of youths in a nearby vehicle. During the investigation, officers located a quantity of cocaine, marihuana, cash, a scale and a knife.
A 17 year old Bradford boy was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing. He stands charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Marijuana), Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine), Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Cocaine, and two counts of Fail To Comply Undertaking.

Assault With A Weapon
(Innisfil, ON) On Tuesday, June 27, 2017, around the lunch hour, South Simcoe Police Service officers were dispatched to investigate an assault which stemmed from a dispute at a local high school. The investigating officer learned that a group of youths were looking to fight another. An adult brother arrived on scene to maintain calm but soon became the target of the group. A vehicle arrived with more suspects and the front seat passenger of the car brandished a pellet gun at the victim. He tried to ride away on a bicycle but was shot three times, suffering minor injuries. The victim did not require medical attention.
Through investigation, the suspect was identified and arrested on July 5, 2017.
A 17 year old Innisfil boy was charged with Assault with a Weapon and Weapons Dangerous to the Public Peace. He was released on strict conditions and will appear in court in August.
