Impaired Driver, Fail To Remain

(Bradford, ON)  On Sunday, February 11, 2018, just after 4:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police responded to a call to be on the look out for a silver BMW that fled the scene of a collision in the area of Summerlyn Trail.  The suspect motor vehicle was reported to have struck a parked vehicle before mounting the curb and hitting a hydro box.  The vehicle sustained extensive front end damage.  The driver called the station shortly after and openly admitted to being the driver who left the scene, being a disqualified driver and had been drinking.  He provided the address he was at and waited for police to arrive.   The male was arrested at the residence and the damaged vehicle was impounded.

The 23 year old male from Bradford was charged with Impaired Driving, Over 80 mgs, Fail To Remain and Drive Disqualified.

Structure Fire

On Tuesday, February 13, 2018 just after 6:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police received a call regarding a fire at the Friday Harbour Resort.  Fire was already on scene when police arrived.  The fire was contained to a number of under construction units.  Police are still on scene while fire attempts to determine a cause.

Nothing suspicious at this time.

Utter Threats

(Bradford, ON)  On Tuesday, January 23, 2018 around 11:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police received a 9-1-1 call from a home  in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.  The brother of the victim reported his concern for his sister's safety after she received some aggressive and threatening text messages.  After speaking with the victim, police learned there is also a history of abusive behaviour from her husband and felt she had a genuine fear for her safety.

Police attended the suspects place of work and arrested him.  He has been charged with Utter Threats  To Cause Bodily Harm or Death.  He has a court date in February and must reside elsewhere and avoid the victim.

Fraud

(Innisfil, ON)  On Tuesday, January 23, 2018, a man attended South Simcoe Police, North Division, to report a fraud that had taken place.  He reports that he met a couple of ladies while at the OLG Slots in Innisfil and they must have distracted him enough to get his bank card and PIN number sometime throughout the evening.  This was noticed when the victim attended the bank to withdraw funds and noticed his banking card gone and close to $3000 missing from his account the next day.

Police are investigating with the help of the banks and business cameras from where transactions have taken place.

Break and Enter

(Innisfil, ON)  On Wednesday, January 17, 2018, just before 7:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police received a call from

the manager of Roadshow Antiques, located at the 400 Flea Market in the Town of Innisfil, for a break and enter

that occurred. Store footage shows two males arriving at 6:45 p.m. prying open the locked door, gaining entry at

6:47 p.m. They immediately head to the jewellery showcases, smash them open and remove a large quantity of jewellery.

The suspects were in the store for only three minutes before seen leaving in a dark coloured SUV.

South Simcoe Police officers along with their Forensic Identification Team and Criminal Investigations Bureau are

still investigating this incident.

A prior theft from the Roadshow Antiques is also being followed by South Simcoe Police Criminal Investigations Bureau.

Fraud (Innisfil, ON)  On Thursday, January 18, 2018, South Simcoe Police were contacted to report a fraud.  An Innisfil business entered into an agreement in 2014 to purchase a refrigeration system and a cement pad installation with a company located in Toronto.  After many payment  instalments and numerous phone calls as to the update for installation, the victim discovered that monies sent never made it to the actual refrigeration company and is now out over 400,000.00.    South Simcoe Police Criminal Investigation Bureau is currently looking into this incident.
